LMS TecWare Test Schedule Definition

Firmly decreasing the duration of validated load data signals is essential in drastically reducing the time required to execute physical or virtual durability tests. LMS TecWare Test Schedule Definition supports engineers by efficiently determining sets of compressed load time histories that preserve the same damage potential as originally present – enabling both the generation of new and the optimization of existing test schedules. Each of the implemented methods is ease-to-use and highly efficient because dedicated batch files capturing the complete process are offered.

LMS TecWare RP-Filter is based on a novel approach which removes the small load cycles of a time series based on rainflow-counting and pseudo-damage calculations – without changing the damage content or the phasing between the channels. The method is applicable on both uni-axial and multi-axial load input signals. The LMS Falancs Stress & Strain option allows to refine the damage model used by taking into account mean-stress effects.

With LMS TecWare Peak Valley Test Definition, uni-axial time signals are rainflow-counted and hysteresis filtered. The resulting rainflow matrix is converted into a series of peak-valley points – ready for input to a uni-axial test rig. Rainflow-based extrapolation can be easily introduced. This allows to take into account the statistical effects of a longer durability test.

LMS TecWare Block Cycle Test Definition creates a damage equivalent constant-amplitude test – consisting of a user-definable mix of ranges, mean values and number of repetitions - from a uni-axial, variable amplitude loading. The default damage model as used can be overwritten by a user-defined damage model. As such constant-amplitude tests adapted to the specific properties of materials (e.g. rubber) can be derived.
