LMS Virtual.Lab Noise and Vibration - Industry Applications

Automotive and Ground Vehicle

In the development of cars, trucks, busses, off-highway vehicles and trains, NVH has become one of the primary concerns. NVH has a direct impact on customer satisfaction and represents a key contributor to the brand values of a vehicle.

The best way to make sure that vibration levels and structure-borne interior noise do not exceed the limits set, LMS Virtual.Lab Noise and Vibration allows development teams to take the NVH performance of their designs into account from the start of the vehicle development process. Using LMS Virtual.Lab, NVH engineers can analyze the most critical NVH contributors and identify the most appropriate design modifications. They can easily combine test-based and FE-based models of components into sub-system and system-level models, and evaluate the NVH performance of the complete vehicle long before the first vehicle prototypes become available.

Aerospace

LMS Virtual.lab Noise and Vibration help engineers identify vibro-acoustic problems in the early development stages and to design an aircraft with optimal cabin comfort. Accurate prediction of the acoustics of an aircraft interior requires accurate modeling of the different noise transmission paths, both structure borne and airborne. LMS Virtual.lab Noise and Vibration makes it possible to calculate the structural behavior of the fuselage due to a random pressure field acting on its surface. Multi-layer trim transmission combined with an interior acoustic model accurately predicts the interior noise levels of the aircraft.

To better anticipate how an aircraft, satellite or launcher design will respond to loads in operational conditions, LMS offers tools Virtual.lab Noise and Vibration to correlate and update simulation models using test results. The use of validated models and test data raises the level of accuracy and gives engineers true confidence in their predictions.

Industrial Machinery

Noise levels and vibration comfort have become of general concern on the work floor. Government regulations are put in place to make sure workers are not exposed to unacceptable noise and vibration levels. LMS Virtual.Lab helps engineers control the noise and vibration levels of mechanical systems such as compressors, pumps, electrical transformers and other industrial products.
