Hardware Calibration Contracts and Hardware Maintenance Contracts

LMS provides the high-quality service you need to get the most out of your LMS hardware.
Through preventive maintenance, the lifetime of your system is maximized while ensuring optimal performance and accuracy. This preventive maintenance also minimizes the risk of unexpected downtime.

The LMS Hardware Calibration Contract provides an annual calibration service, with an ‘as found’ and an ‘as left’ report.

The LMS Hardware Maintenance Contract includes the same service and reports as the Hardware Calibration Contract, complemented with a warranty extension. In the unlikely event that a hardware failure occurs, the LMS Hardware Maintenance Contract further guarantees that you can continue your measurement campaign by replacing the defective module(s) with modules with identical specifications.
The LMS Hardware Maintenance Contract extends the warranty on your LMS hardware. Extended warranty on software products can be covered through our separate software support contract.

Hardware Maintenance Contract (HMC)

  • Shipments in European Union, United States and Canada are done with overnight delivery. For other regions different conditions will apply depending on local customs regulations
  • All shipping costs are at the expense of LMS

Scope

The services, provided by Hardware Calibration Contracts (HCC) and Hardware Maintenance Contracts (HMC), are performed by qualified LMS service engineers. Calibration services are by default performed in one of the LMS offices. An LMS SCADAS system will be updated to the latest production status during the annual calibration service.
Upgrades of modules are charged separately. A module is upgraded when after the operation, it carries a new Product Identification number that corresponds to a different entry on the LMS pricelist.
If an on-site visit is requested, travel expenses for lodging, travel time and plane or train tickets are billed separately.

Response time

When a customer suspects a hardware defect, he should contact his local Response Line center. We will make a diagnosis of the problem and when the hardware defect is confirmed, the defective module(s) will be swapped with module(s) with identical specifications. The latter will be shipped from one of our warehouses. For countries within the European Union, United States and Canada, shipments will be done with overnight delivery, allowing next working day delivery for all shipments, initiated before noon. For other countries, shipment will depend upon local customs regulations. The customer is requested to return the defective module(s) to LMS within 1 working day after his system is confirmed to be operational. The services are available Monday to Friday during normal office hours of your LMS Response Line center, excluding national holidays.

Yearly calibration service

Once a year, an LMS engineer will perform a full calibration service as follows:

  • Functional test
  • System calibration using equipment that is calibrated in accordance with ISO/IEC17025:1999. A certified and accredited external party certifies the latter. A full calibration statement is available upon request. At the completion of the calibration, the updated calibration factors are stored in the firmware of the LMS hardware. A complete ‘as found’ report is generated.
  • Update modules to the latest production status.
  • Clean the system air filters, if applicable.
  • System verification. The customer will receive a second report with ‘as left’ data, which enables him to use the LMS SCADAS hardware for measurement procedures that can be certified towards the ISO9000 standard.

Eligibility for HCC and HMC

An LMS SCADAS system is eligible for HMC and HCC until the end of its warranty period. In case the warranty period has expired, LMS reserves the right to perform a system check and to charge for any repairs before the start of an HMC or HCC.

HMC and HCC contracts will be sold on LMS SCADAS and SCADAS Mobile systems for 5 years beyond the officially announced last production date.

LMS warranty and extended warranty as covered by HMC apply only to products manufactured by LMS. They do not apply if the product has been modified, altered or serviced by other than LMS, or its authorized service representative. Furthermore, this warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by misuse, abuse of any kind, misapplication or accident.
